Camila Dos Santos


Trained in the academic environment of conservatories and universities, she is mainly dedicated to exploring the expressive possibilities of the violoncello, expanding and improvising in different languages. Born in 1986 in Asuncion, Paraguay. Graduated from the Municipal Conservatory of Music "Agustin Barrios" in Asuncion. She received a degree in Chamber Music from the National University of Lanus and also a Graduate Degree in Expanded Music at the National University of San Martin. (Argentina) Her symphonic experience includes activity in organisms of Paraguay and Argentina. She was a principal of cello in the National Symphony of Paraguay. She has participated as a soloist in premiering works of current composers. She is intensely active in chamber, traditional, contemporary and folkloric-popular repertoire. She participates in recordings and live concerts as a sessionist with different groups and she is actually a part of the quartet Delta, the Almagro Camerata and the listening production collective "RΝO" (different recordings) and now she plays improvisational and expanded music with KURUNDU (an amulet in guarani language) Camila Dos Santos and Zigo are working in real time with electronic music, field recordings and cello. She is a member of the teaching team of the Orchestras and Choirs Program for the Bicentennial, at the National University of General Sarmiento, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
